Seattle Sidetrip: The Public Market Center

A lot of travelers with enough vacation time do both Vancouver and Seattle in the same trip. That's what I did last time with a little less than a week spent in both. Having never been to Seattle, it was good to do. It has a distinct character from Vancouver.

Vancouver was more my style though. My vote is for Vancouver if I had to pick between the two. That's how Vancouver'd came to be. Still, Seattle has its neighborhoods and sites.

The Seattle Public Market Center is a big destination. It's a complex of unique stores at the market and the blocks surrounding.

Lots of produce, meat and all kinds of giftable things can be found in the market.

Getting breakfast early (9AM) in the Public Market is surprisingly difficult as no one is serving. Our Frommer's or Fodor's travel guide was wrong about this being a good place for breakfast.

We ended up waiting until Crepes de France opened in mid-morning. It's a nice little place that serves all kinds of crepe combinations (both savory and dessert) and plenty of hot coffee.

Mmmm good.... worth the wait.
