How to get to Dr Sun Yat-Sen Park in Vancouver Chinatown

The Dr Sun Yat-Sen Park and Garden is a beautiful Vancouver park designed to give Westerners a way to experience China. Dr Sun Yat-Sen Park is one of the top 10 attractions in Vancouver's Chinatown district. A visit to the park will be quick, but it is so close to the rest of Chinatown that it is a worthy excursion. And a visit will help work off a meal of Vancouver's famous Chinese dim sum at one of the many authentic local Chinese restaurants.
Getting to Dr Sun Yat-Sen Park is easy by car, bus or taxi.
Shopping in Vancouver Chinatown
For one of the most unique shopping experiences in Canada or the US, visit Vancouver's Chinatown district.

Shopping in Vancouver's Chinatown makes you feel like you're in China. In fact, a lot of the Chinatown shopping is geared towards the local population, one of North America's largest Chinese populations.
You can see in this picture that the labels on the foods are in Chinese only. This makes figuring out what you are buying a little bit challenging, to say the least. Confusing the foods can really mess up a recipe!

What's with all the lions?
While the lions of the Lions Gate Bridge may be the most famous lions of Vancouver, another lion stands boldy in Vancouver's Chinatown. More can be found around Chinatown.
Roarrr!!
Yum, Lizards and Eels!
Seeking to be an amateur Andrew Zimmerman, the "eater of all things that seem yucky"?
Vancouver's Chinatown is the place to achieve your goals. Just wander around the food stalls in Chinatown.
You may stumble upon some gecko lizards on a stick. Yum!
If that's not good enough for you, how about eating slippery eels?

Strange Foods in Vancouver's Chinatown: What is it?
Have you ever seen these foods before?
Hint: These are from Vancouver's Chinatown, Canada's largest Chinatown and the second largest in North America after San Francisco. Visitors often spend the afternoon wandering around in the stores, visiting the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, and chosing from a variety of restaurants for lunch or dinner.
This is a "real Chinatown" as can be seen by the Chinese food signs in the local grocery shops. Half the fun is guessing what the foods are.
Take a look at these pictures to see the variety.
